Chairperson PAWWA inaugurates Bal Mela at PP School Miran Sahib


Jammu, November 19: As a part of academic activities Police Public School Jammu organised one day Bal Mela at Miran Sahib here today. The Mela was inaugurated by Chairperson, J&K Police Wives Welfare Association (PAWWA), Mrs. K.Vijaya Rajendra.
In her inaugural address, Mrs. Vijaya said that the activity is aimed to provide the students an opportunity to enjoy amusement and other activities. She said that besides academic curriculum, cultural activities are imperative to boost the talent of students. The students are over burdened with the study materials and they have a little leisure time to take other activities of enjoyment. It is mandatory to organise cultural and other events in the schools to build physical and mental health of children, she added.
In the day long Mela different stalls were established by various agencies, displaying different items of child interest. Cultural programme by the students was a part of the Mela, besides amusement items like, camel ride, julla, tambola, hoopla, lucky dip and food items. Raffle draw for the tickets already sold by the school management was also held in presence of ticket holders.
During the Mela students of the school and other children of the area showed great enthusiasm in purchase of displayed items and other activities.
Mrs. Vijaya along with the PAWWA members inspected the stalls and enquired about the quality of food and other items displayed for sale. She appreciated the school administration and the staff members for organizing such Melas and taking interest in extra curriculum activities for the betterment of students. She also distributed raffle draw prizes among the winners on the spot.
Among others, the Mela was attended by DIG, Jammu-Kathua Range, Mr. Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, Exn, PCD, Mr. Rashid Mustafa, Dy: Director Prosecution, Mr. Sanjiv Pardhan, Principal PPS, Mr. Parshotam Sharma, staff members of school, parents of students and other police officers.
