Chairperson PWWA Professor Rasmita Das Swain inaugurates JKPWWA Diwali Mela


Chairperson Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA), Professor Rasmita Das Swain inaugurated Diwali Mela in the lawn of Police GO's Mess, Gulshan Ground, Jammu in presence of senior PWWA members Dr Archana Jha Choudhary, Mrs. Shweta Kumar, Dr Jayashree Tuti, Dr Poonam Patil, Mrs. Rimpi Chanwal, Mrs. Chitvan Wazir, Mrs. Pooja Singh, Mrs. Radhika Sharma, Dr Sharminder Johar, Mrs. Satvinder Kour and Mrs. Shiv Deep Singh Jamwal.

To attract the people, stalls from different Police Welfare Centres that included Srinagar, Jammu, Anantnag, Kathua, Police Departmental Store Jammu and stalls from private vendors were also displayed. Chairperson PWWA, J&K Professor Rasmita Das Swain along with other PWWA members and guests visited all stalls installed by different police units and private vendors and appreciated them for providing attractive items.

A Rangoli Competition was also organised wherein about 30 students from Police Public School Miran Sahib Jammu participated. In the Rangoli Competition, Ms Mahi Khajuria and Mr Navdeep Singh (Group 8) bagged the 1st Prize of Rs. 4000/- and Commendation Certificates, Ms Arya Choudhary and Ms Ridham Choudhary (Group 5) bagged 2nd Prize of Rs. 3000/- and Commendation Certificate and Ms Jaspreet Kour and Tansheen Kour (Group 4) and Ms Shavi Bhagat and Ms Ishika Bhagat (Group 10) shared the 3rd Prize of Rs. 2000/- and Commendation Certificates. All other participants were rewarded with Rs 500/- each and Commendation Certificates. While interacting with students, Chairperson PWWA praised them for their talent and advised them and said that this type of extracurricular activity serves as a part of personal development.

Dr Manu Bhatnagar, wife of Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Shri R. R. Bhatnagar, former Chairpersons of J&K PWWA – Dr Indu Kaul Khoda, Mrs. Bharti Vaid, Dr Rubinder Kaur and former DGP J&K Shri S.P Vaid graced the occasion and appreciated the meticulous arrangements made by J&K PWWA and skills exhibited by the students of J&K Police Public School, Jammu.

The Mela was also attended by lady wives of retired senior Police officers, DIG (Retd) Ms Manju Rashid, DIG IRP Jammu Ms Sarah Rizvi, DIG Armed Jammu Ms. Nisha Nathyal, AIG(Welfare) PHQ Shri Abhishek Mahajan, AIG(Prov. & Tpt) PHQ Shri Gurinderpal Singh, SSP Shri Mubassir Latifi Ameer, SSP Ms Rashmi Wazir and SSP Ms Anita Sharma.
