JAMMU(J&K), Feb 16: Director General of Police (DGP), K.
Rajendra Kumar, today sanctioned scholarships worth Rs. 2
lakh in favour of 27 school going children of police
martyrs, who have saved the precious lives and property of
the people in the State. The scholarships have been
sanctioned for the academic year (2014-15).
While sanctioning scholarships, the DGP said that the
parents of these wards have sacrificed their lives for the
integrity of the State and it is due to their supreme
sacrifices we have succeeded in bringing peace and normalcy
in the State. He said that the martyrs laid down their
present for our future and it is prime duty of Jammu and
Kashmir Police Origination to take care of their wards. The
department has realized its responsibility and has been
assisting these wards under various welfare schemes to lead
a prosperous life.
Mr. Rajendra said that among various welfare schemes, the
wards of martyrs are provided free education and hostel
facilities in police public schools at Srinagar and Jammu.
Free coaching for professional courses is also provided to
these wards so that they could excel in these courses. The
scholarships are provided to these wards from the primary
level regularly so that they could nurish their talent in
education, he added.
The scholarship sanctioned among the wards include Aamir
Maqbool, Sabreena, Sumeera, Vikas Maqbool, Afia Parveen,
Muskan Bashir, Danish Mushtaq, Neelofar Mushtaq, Shabnam
Shakeel, Ruqiya Bano, Adnan Yousuf, Ishrat, Neelofar, Taqwah,
Kritika Sharma, Sadia Kausar, Sheetal Koul, Sahil Verma,
Shrutika Verma, Gulshan Kumar, Shivani, Daljinderjit Singh,
Raghav Thakur, Ishfaq Quwam, Kulsuma, Mohammad Rafiq and
Muneeb Manzoor.
